The Tasmanian Government is committed to increasing opportunities for women and girls to participate in all levels of sport.

As part of this commitment, the Department of State Growth through Active Tasmania is seeking input on how to help increase the participation of women and girls in all aspects of sport and active recreation.

Our Tasmanian community is diverse, and we want to work with organisations to identify and remove barriers to participation for women and girls.

The new strategy will provide a strategic framework to enable all women and girls in Tasmania to access and engage in a sport or active recreation activity of their choice in a safe, inclusive, and fun way.

Women in Sport Stories

Featured in the above video is Holly-Lace Ayton, Technical Director at Taroona Football Club and Kit Manager for the Matildas. This film is part of a series that focuses on female role models within the Tasmanian community to build exposure and develop connections. These inspiring individuals share their stories to encourage others to get involved.

Have your say

Consultation workshops will be held across the state and online from 8 - 10 April. These workshops will provide an opportunity for sport and active recreation organisations and community members to provide feedback and share ideas about the future of women and girls sport in Tasmania.
